The artwork record

Authenticity

Clear authorship and documentation should travel with every original.

01

What accompanies available work

A signed certificate identifies the artist, title, year, medium, dimensions, and inventory record. Editioned work includes the edition size and number. The invoice establishes the acquisition record.

02

One canonical object

An original one-of-one artwork appears once in the catalog. When collected, its status changes and its record remains intact. Alternate photographs or state graphics do not create duplicate inventory.

03

Keep documents safely

Store the invoice, certificate, condition photographs, and relevant correspondence together but separate from the artwork. These records support responsible future stewardship.
