Anika Feld
Berlin, Germany
“A window is both surface and distance.”
Biography
Anika Feld trained as an architectural model maker, a background still visible in her sharply constructed city paintings. She compresses facades, scaffolding, and reflections into unstable planes.
Artist statement
Cities teach us to read fragments. My paintings hold the moment when a reflection becomes as solid as the building behind it.
In the studio
Feld tapes and redraws compositions repeatedly, combining acrylic, graphite, and wax pencil. Hard edges are interrupted by sanded passages and quick brush marks. Drypoint and screenprint carry her architectural lines into the physical grain of paper.
