Leila Haddad

Tunis, Tunisia

Pattern is never merely decoration; it tells us how to enter a room.

Biography

Leila Haddad moves between painting and stitched cloth, drawing on domestic patterns without quoting them directly. Her figures occupy flattened interiors where fabric becomes architecture.

Artist statement

Cloth is close to the body and full of social instruction. I use it to build spaces where a figure can resist, rest, and reimagine itself.

In the studio

Haddad paints on linen, then adds appliquéd cotton, loose threads, and areas of hand embroidery. The seams remain visible as compositional lines. Her digital works turn woven rhythm and patterned rooms into layered fields of color.
