Mila Petrović
Thessaloniki, Greece
“The empty part is the form you cannot touch.”
Biography
Mila Petrović makes hand-built ceramic vessels whose off-center bodies seem caught in a slow turn. She moved to Thessaloniki after years of working in community kilns across the Balkans.
Artist statement
A vessel is both object and held space. I shape the wall until the inside and outside feel equally intentional.
In the studio
Petrović coils local stoneware, marks it with wooden ribs, and fires layered slips to muted mineral surfaces. Small cracks and shifts are accepted when structurally sound. Intimate vessels let her explore the relationship between held space, color, and an irregular rim.
