Biography
Miles Bennett began photographing stage sets before turning toward the accidental theaters created by city glass. His editioned photographs compress reflected architecture, weather, and passing light into images that hover between document and geometric abstraction.
Artist statement
The camera lets Bennett make several places occupy one surface. He looks for reflections that complicate space without losing the physical evidence of glass, rain, and changing daylight.
In the studio
Bennett walks with a compact medium-format camera and works without assistants. Files are printed slowly on baryta paper, with color kept cool and exact; editions remain small so he can supervise every proof.
