Biography
Theodore Walker worked in automotive prototyping before establishing a studio practice focused on folded metal. His reliefs and small structures retain industrial exactness while using patina, shadow, and open joints to resist a manufactured finish.
Artist statement
Walker treats a fold as both structure and image. The work changes as light enters its recesses, making fabrication visible without reducing the object to technique.
In the studio
Walker builds paper patterns, transfers them to sheet steel or aluminum, and forms each plane with brakes and hand tools. Welds are dressed selectively; blue-black patina and brushed surfaces preserve different records of labor.
